Circular Economy

At Lending Hands Foundation, we are passionate advocates for sustainable practices through our commitment to advancing the circular economy. This transformative approach prioritizes reducing waste, reusing resources, and recycling materials, aiming to educate and empower communities in Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi/NCR. Moving beyond the traditional linear model of “take, make, dispose,” we advocate for a regenerative system where resources are continuously cycled back into use, ensuring sustainability for future generations.

Challenges

In urban areas like Noida, Greater Noida, and Delhi/NCR, rapid urbanization has exacerbated environmental issues such as plastic waste proliferation and inadequate recycling infrastructure. These challenges pose threats to local ecosystems and public health, necessitating urgent action for sustainable solutions.

Key Impact

Despite these challenges, Lending Hands Foundation has made significant strides in promoting environmental sustainability:

  • Mobilized 120,000 citizens through 700+ community events to raise awareness about waste reduction and segregation.
  • Collected 9,296 Kilograms and recycled 6,631 kilograms of waste through community cleanup drives and a barter exchange program.
  • Enrolled over 10,000 students in our educational programs, with a focus on training students as waste champions.
  • Installed 2.1 KW of solar panels and repurposed 20 benches from recycled plastic.
  • Created a children’s playground using recycled tires, transforming waste into sustainable infrastructure for the community.
How We Drive Change

At Lending Hands Foundation, we catalyze change through strategic initiatives that deliver sustainable impact:

  • Engaging Communities: Organizing large-scale cleanup events and interactive educational programs to foster environmental responsibility and advocate for policy reforms.
  • Student Learning Initiative: Believing students are future leaders, our Student Learning Initiative empowers them to champion sustainable practices and environmental stewardship.
